For 20+ years Vasily moved from classical poetry into painting, then into placing his work where no canvas had been — gallery walls worldwide, and finally low Earth orbit. A painting, to him, is less an object than an expedition.

WORLD POETRY GARDEN
Vasily started as a poet. He wrote for years before he ever touched a canvas, and he has always said the paintings are just poems that stopped waiting for words. The garden is the debt being paid back.
A share of the proceeds funds a real place on real ground: one tree planted for every poet whose lines shaped the work. Not a metaphor and not a JPEG — bark, roots, a bench, and a plaque you can read with your own eyes.
A painting can leave the planet. A tree has to stay. That contrast is the whole point of the project: the furthest thing Vasily ever sent away pays for the most rooted thing he will ever build.
